Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress
B-17C s/n 40-2047
2 NOV 1941
Tells Peak, 25 east of Georgetown CA

The main wing in 1999. Craig Fuller in front of the center section with the bomb bay door in the background
Left, The main wing as it looked when TIGHAR surveyed the site in 2001.
The trailing edge of the waist gunner's port. The rest of the waist gunner's port.
The empennage. From the time I first visited he empennage in 1999 it had been moved flattened slightly when TIGHAR surveyed the site in 2001. Although I accredited the flattening to snow rather than vandalism.
The insignia with a red dot was remarkably well preserved. The left wing was almost a mile away from the empennage.
